"Lavana's tanka is concise with vivid imagery and tightly structured with a strong emotional undercurrent. Each line adds something significant to the poem, culminating in the final line, which strongly underlies the dog's unwavering loyalty to its master. And we all know that even in cold weather (as indicated in L1), the dog will come to the shore and wait for its master's return tomorrow, the day after tomorrow,...

This heartfelt tanka reminds me one of my haiku, which was inspired by a real-life event:

ghost bike
locked to the lamppost...
a beagle at dusk
